The Vertex of a Quadratic

i.e. the minimum or maximum coordinates of a quadratic. The tip of the curve, if you will.

This can be found if you complete the square of a quadratic. The form is some variant of \((x-p)^2+r\).

\(p\) acts as the \(x\)-coordinate of the vertex. Its sign will always be inverted. \(-p\) becomes \(+p\). The opposite is true.

\(r\) acts as the \(y\)-coordinate of the vertex. Its sign will stay the same.
